Regulatory Compliance Technician
JOB SUMMARY:
The Regulatory Compliance Technician supports the changes in global regulations such as RoHS, REACH, Conflict Minerals, and Product Safety while driving continuous improvement of processes used by Airmar to deliver compliant products.
JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Familiarity with Bill-of-Material structure – tiered parent-child relationships.
- Applications knowledge of RoHS, REACH, CE, SCIP), WEEE, Proposition 65, Conflict Minerals, Material Declarations, & MSDS
- Liaison for communicating global environmental compliance information to Airmar Departments.
- Serve as a liaison with customers to ensure products meet global environmental compliance regulations.
- Prepare and submit regulatory certifications support customer needs.
- Interact with our 3rd-party compliance partner to update product databases.
- Communicate with suppliers to obtain information and ensuring environmental compliance.
- Monitor and communicate the impact of changes in regulatory requirements.
- Review Engineering Change Requests for compliance to applicable regulatory requirements.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Maintain Airmar’s Material Data Sheet system.
- Support new product introduction by ensuring that regulatory standards are met and properly deployed so that projects are completed on time and meet quality, cost, and availability goals.
- Work with regulatory agencies to understand upcoming changes in regulations and, in advance, the impact to new and legacy Airmar products, communicating these changes to a cross-functional group.
- Review Engineering Changes (ECRs) for compliance conformance.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Word and Excel required.
- 2-4 years in environmental and regulatory compliance or engineering field is preferred.
- Marine applications are a plus.

- Visual acuity sufficient for work which deals largely with reading, writing and computer work.
- Ability to perform repetitive or routine duties working from detailed instructions and under standard procedures.
- Ability to endure periods of heavy workload.
